Could your interior use a splash of color? Then use colored MDF boards in your next project! This material is already colored during the production process, making the board colored all the way through! You can still see the wood fibers here and there, giving the material a marbled appearance. If you like this look, you can finish it with a clear coat, but if you prefer a solid color, you can simply paint over it. The big advantage of colored MDF is that it is colored through and through, so any drill and screw holes are also colored. This means you don't have to mess around with paint when you work with the material. Handy, right?

Variants of Colored MDF

Colored MDF boards come in many different variants. We already had gray and black in our assortment, and now 4 variants have been added. Here’s a quick overview of the new arrivals:

MDF Red Colored

MDF Red Colored is the red variant of MDF. The dye used for this is also called ‘Berry Red’. It is a beautiful, bright red shade that you can use for any indoor project.

MDF Red Colored is not the only variant of MDF that is colored red. MDF Fire Retardant is also a red-colored board material. However, this board has a more orange/brown hue and is only used to indicate that it is fire-retardant MDF. MDF Red Colored is not made from fire-retardant MDF, so always be careful when ordering to choose the right variant for your project.

MDF Blue Colored

MDF Blue Colored is the variant you choose if you want to create a project in a blue shade. The color used during the production process is also called ‘Royal Blue’. It is a beautiful, dark shade of blue that gives the material a cool and calm appearance. Do you have an interior with a water, sea, or beach theme? Then MDF Blue Colored will fit in beautifully.

MDF Yellow Colored

MDF Yellow Colored is the variant that is colored with a yellow pigment. This color is also called ‘Curry Yellow’. This shade resembles ochre yellow, which is currently a popular color for alternative interiors. Ochre Yellow was widely used in the 1970s and is now being used again to simulate that vintage style.

MDF Terra Brown Colored

MDF Terra Brown Colored is a variant that is colored all the way through in a different shade of brown than standard MDF. Plain MDF has a light brown color due to the wood fibers. MDF Terra Brown Colored has a dark brown tint that more closely resembles the color of earth (Terra also means earth). So if you want to create a project in a true brown color, it’s better to choose MDF Terra Brown Colored instead of plain board material.
