Table for behind the sofa with storage space, by Jochem

Jochem has made a super handy custom table for the living room for storing the remote control, for example. He used MDF moisture-resistant. A very fun DIY with a unique end result.

Designed and made a table for friends in the perfect sizes for them. This way it fits exactly behind the sofa and they can store all the remote controls etc. in it.

How I made this project

First the 'customer' ; translated into a 3D design in Fusion360. Then have everything neatly cut to size. I first left the lid in one piece, so that I could align it more easily. First connected the two frames with dominoes, then provided the bottom with holes for the legs, and the bottom + dividers glued in. The legs are screwed and of course the screw holes are filled with MDF filler. I chose waterproof MDF because in my experience it can be processed much better than normal MDF. The alignment of the hinges could have been better, perhaps a piano hinge would have also been sufficient.
