What did you make?
I made a perfect round table using a round plate supplied by OPMAATZAGEN.nl. Making a perfect round table is difficult! I used the perfect round shape in sheet material as a "template" for the final table. In addition to the desired shape, the plate also provides strength, together the top is now more than 38 mm thick. I edged the final leaf with a steel strip. The top is supported by a steel leg that I welded myself.
How did you proceed?
I put 26 floorboards together on my work table, the right side I painted with different colors, several layers on top of each other. Once dry, I turned the floorboards over and coated them with wood glue. Then I glued the round plate on top. I initially did this with a lot of glue clamps and then I screwed a screw every 150mm. Once the glue is dry, remove the clamps. To then follow the perfect round line using a jigsaw, I place the foot of the jigsaw directly next to the edge of the round plate. Once sawn, everything was neatly sanded. Both the edge and the floorboards, giving you a magic ball effect. I made a ring with steel around the round table, as the two types of wood (floorboards and sheet material) looked a bit cheap. I placed the final top on a self-welded steel leg. The main reason I used the sheet material from OPMAATZAGEN.nl is for reinforcement and the perfect shape.
What are the dimensions?
The table top has a diameter of 2350 mm. Height of 750mm
