Replaced shelves of storage cupboards with custom sawn OSB, by Ricky

In this DIY project, Ricky shows how he has given existing storage cabinets a second life. By ordering custom-sawn OSB panels online, it was easy to replace the panels. The shelves can last for years and can also carry more weight; very handy!

Description from Ricky

We have storage cupboards in our shed/garage. We have had these for a long time, but they were supplied with thick cardboard plates as shelves. These panels quickly sagged, so new planks had to be installed.

How I made this project

By replacing these cardboard panels with custom-sawn OSB planks, the storage cabinets are sturdy again and heavier products can also be placed on the shelves. I had the planks cut to the same sizes as the cardboard planks, so the planks can be replaced 1 on 1. We already had the outside of the cupboard in the shed, which were delivered and assembled as a kit. The OSB planks are sturdy and will not sag easily.
