Our office had two separate desks and too little storage space. We wanted to create more cohesion and peace by creating one long desk, with cupboard space underneath. We also looked for a convenient place for the printer. We concealed it in one of the cabinets, with a roll-out tray.

How I made this project

The desktop consists of two separate leaves of the same size (30 mm plywood). This way we could make the top at exactly the right height for both of us. Halfway through the continuous leaf jumps, but this also gives it something playful. The cabinets on which the top rests offer plenty of storage space. They are made of 18mm plywood. We used existing drawers for the drawers. Handy, because we only had to give it a new front! The printer can be used by folding down the front of the pull-out tray (on wheels). This way the printer is out of sight but still close at hand. On the right side, the desktop rests on a beam that we mounted on the wall.
